Bake someone happy with a cranberry-studded apple dessert crowned with a crunchy topping.

Ingredients

  • 6

    cups sliced peeled apples (about 6 medium)

  • 2/3

    cup sweetened dried cranberries

  • 1

    teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 2

    tablespoons maple-flavored syrup

  • 1

    tablespoon lemon juice

  • 2/3

    cup quick-cooking oats

  • 1/2

    cup packed brown sugar

  • 1/2

    cup Original Bisquick™ mix

  • 1/4

    cup chopped walnuts

  • 1/4

    cup butter or margarine, softened

  • Vanilla ice cream, if desired

    Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, mix apples, cranberries, cinnamon, syrup and lemon juice. Spoon into ungreased 8-inch square baking dish.

    In medium bowl, mix remaining ingredients except ice cream with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.

    Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender, juices are bubbly and topping is golden brown. Cool about 30 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
